Living the Word of God

Merry Christmas

If the entire word of God could be summed up into one word, that word would be LOVE.

Some facts about love: 1) Love covers a multitude of sin remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of their way will save them from death and cover over a multitude of sins. James 5:20 NIV

2) Love casts out fear There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. 1 John 4:18

3) Love does no wrong. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs (1st Corinthians 13:5 NIV).

Love is an action word: God gave up His Son out of love. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16 Jesus died. But there is a great difference between Adam’s sin and God’s gracious gift. For the sin of this one man, Adam, brought death to many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of forgiveness to many through this other man, Jesus Christ. Romans 5:15 NLT

One of the main reasons why the devil (and his cohorts) wants to do away with love is because there is no room for selfishness in love. Love gives. Ask in confidence what God can do for you so that you can do for others.

What makes Christmas is so powerful when you give of yourself through your time, your talents, or your money – then it makes you feel good all over and the recipient sending praises to God. Everyday should be Christmas. Make your Christmas merry by giving. Have a blessed day.
