Have you ever wondered why police men and women have a type of “boldness” that makes them seem above us common folks? They have been given the authority to arrest all those who do wrong. Child of God, do you know that God has given you authority as well? The authority that God has given you allows you to put under your feet everything that the enemy (the devil) can throw at you to knock you off of your confessions of faith. Let’s go to the scriptures. The scripture says: “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him” (1ST John 5:14-15).
Take healing as an example of something you want to pray for. First know, IT IS God’s will that you be healed. When you pray according to the scripture in 1st John 5, know that it is God’s will to heal you and expect to be healed. “Suddenly, a man with leprosy approached him and knelt before him. “Lord,” the man said, “if you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean.” Jesus reached out and touched him. “I am willing,” he said. “Be healed!” And instantly the leprosy disappeared” Matthew 8:2-3 NLT.
No sooner than you prayed and believed the prayer for your healing, the devil will in some way come to you with a negative report trying to get you to change your confession and alter your belief in the prayer you just prayed. Your job is to STAND FIRM! “Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm” (Ephesians 6:13 NLT). It doesn’t matter how many positive affirmations you make, the moment you speak one negative confession – you will receive the negative – confess the word you believed even in the face of opposition and you will receive from God those things you believed for. This is your right and authority in Christ.
Not everything that you prayed for will immediately be manifested as it did in those days, however, it will be done for you as long as you don’t change your position. The Bible calls it seed – time and harvest (Genesis 8:22).
Now It’s up to you to walk in that boldness knowing that whatever you asked and believed it will come.
Let’s look at your “authority” for a moment.
“Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you” (Luke 10:19 KNJV). “Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven” (Matthew 18:18 NKJV).
In this illustration “the serpent was an emblem of cunning and wisdom. The serpent who deceived Eve was regarded by the Jews as the devil” (BLB.org). And a scorpion, as we all know, has a poisonous sting in its tail. If you know anything about spiritual affairs, “The World” is filled with men who think that they can outwit the wisdom of God. Their “poison” leads people to steal, kill and destroy the lives of others. Humm. That sounds like the devil (John 10:10).
“Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness. And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain” 1st Corinthians 3:18-20. No matter what comes at you, God has already gave His position on the matter. You are healed (2nd Peter 2:24). The devil’s position is to steal, kill and destroy you (John 10:10). The words you speak makes you the deciding vote according to Matthew 18:19.
