He Proclaimed “Free At Last. Free at Last. Thank God Almighty I’m free at last.”
Many people claim to be free but are prisoners of their own words. If you find yourself speaking words like: “I can’t do____.” “I can’t get ____” “I’ll never have _____ because of…” or similar statements, you are in fact creating your OWN barriers to your success.
Most of what I’ve read and understood about the Bible teaches me that I CAN HAVE what I say if I BELIEVE that I can have it. Let me ask you a question. What are you saying about your situation(s)?
And Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God. Truly, I say to you, whoever SAYS to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he SAYS will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ASK in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.” Mark 11:22-25 ESV
Here’s a quick translation. If you ask and trust that God will give you the help that you need to overcome whatever situation you are facing in life, then you will receive it as long as you are not trying to do something with malicious intent.
How do I know? Here are some of the promises God made to you and me.
1) The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”Deut 31:8 NIV
But if you don’t make a demand on His grace, how will you ever start to believe in Him and how will He know that you really want help?
2) If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.” Matthew 21:22
If you never tried to believe God for anything before, to prove that He will give it to you, then when you all of a sudden want to believe God for a New Car and it doesn’t work, you WILL get disappointed. Not that God won’t give it to you but at this point, YOU CAN’T BELIEVE that He will. Suggestion: Start believing God for small things and build your faith up so that you can believe Him for the bigger things.
3) I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. Psalms 121:1-2
He’s an ever present helper in the time of your need.
You give birth to whatever thoughts you entertain. So you might as well think of the best instead of the worst. It takes the same creative energy. You’ll know what thoughts you’ve accepted because they will soon start to flow out of your mouth. One word, if you don’t like what came out, change them. Only you have the power to do so.
But the things that come out of a person’s mouth come from the heart, and these defile them. For out of the heart come evil thoughts—murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. Matt 15:18-19
A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. Luke 6:45
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Phil 4:8 for when you think on this wise, you will not get contrary results.
I believe that Dr. Martin Luther King found out the true freedom comes by the power given to us by the Word of God. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. John 8:36
“Any intelligent fool can make things bigger and more complex… It takes a touch of genius — and a lot of courage to move in the opposite direction.” – Albert Einstein
