Living the Word of God

Pay It Forward And Be Happy

And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful. Mark 4:18-19.

The seed that fell among the thorns represents others who hear God’s word, but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the worries of this life, the lure of wealth, and the desire for other things, so no fruit is produced (Mark 4:18-19 NLT).

This is one of the greatest problems we have in life. We hear the Word, but our senses are smothered by all of life’s little worries which crowd out the Word and force us to spend valuable time and energy going after the things which don’t produce the outcome we seek.  For example, someone on fb wrote this last night.

“I think society is based on completion and not cooperation. So we are asked why we don’t love our neighbor when our wholes lives we are taught not to help each other but to beat each other. We are taught to try harder to get what everybody else wants or needs and to try and beat them to it even if you have to step on them to get it. Love thy neighbor YA Right.” Name of author withheld for privacy.

I wasn’t raised this way. In our house we would help anyone in need. It wasn’t about stepping on anyone to get ahead but to build yourself up so that you outshine your competition. Some call it aura but I know it as a man’s spirit within him. People feel it, children especially.  When your spirit is right, people will seek you out to bestow blessings on you. A simple promise God made to all those who call upon Him is that if we would seek His way of doing things, everything we need in life, He would give them to us. All we have to do is ask.

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. (Matthew 6:33).

Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them (Mark 11:24).

It still remains your choice. You can do it the hard way and live a miserable life with all your riches or you can go about life God’s way and enjoy the blessings of life. Glory to God and His righteousness.
