How many people gave up on the Patriots or the Red Sox before the end of the games the other day. I almost did on the Patriots. Then they got the ball back with over a minute left and I saw the fire in Tom Brady’s eyes And Before you know it, TOUCHDOWN. The Patriots Won. Then I turned the channel to the Red Sox. Big Papi hit a grand slam. And finally, the Red Sox walk off with the 6-5 win.
These examples are similar to what we experience in our prayer life. You ask the Lord for something and go about your day waiting for it to materialize. Then there comes a point when it looks like you won’t get it. Really that’s the time for you to hold on to your expectancy but instead, most will give up and concede the lost or unanswered prayer. Scripture says: “Let us not become weary in going good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up (Galatians 6:9 NIV).
God wants to answer your prayers and give you the desires of your heart. Your job is to believe He will til the very end and you receive it. The battle was won when the Lord Jesus rose from the dead. So while you are fighting the good fight, if it looks like you are losing, keep fighting until the tide turns in your favor or until you get the desired results. Never forget, there is no time limit in eternity so if you really want what you’ve asked for, you will get it – eventually if you don’t give up. As they say, “a good fight is the ones you win.” There is victory in Jesus.
