Living the Word of God

A Word About Unexpected Money

It has been on my heart to talk to about money. I was once, earlier in my career, a financial planner holding a Stockbroker’s (Series 7/63) license for about 7 or 8 years until I didn’t renew it. Everyone professes to be an expert in this matter until you start taking a good look at what they are doing with theirs. In reality most people really don’t have a clue how to manage money nor how to get it. Have you ever notice how people change when they get money? Most likely it was fast money. You know the kind. The money you win from the lottery, an insurance settlement or at Bingo. You never expected it and never intended to use it in your overall plan to become debt free. As fast as it comes, is just as how fast it goes. Then you are right back in the same boat-looking for more money.

The original purpose of money was to be used as an exchange of medium.  It suppose to be use to buy goods and services.  In Bible times rams, bulls, spices, clothes then sometimes silver and gold were the exchange of medium. People would bring their exchange of medium to find favor, obtain wisdom in a matter, to bless someone and/or to worship God.  How we we’ve used money to lord over people is beyond my senses. The Bible says The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower [is] servant to the lender. (Pro 22:7) I’ve seen this scripture come true when a man with money “buys” someone who has none and when you owe someone, you become subject to their requests and other desires. Have you ever owed someone some money and saw them on the street when you didn’t have it or when you really weren’t ready to pay them? You avoided them like a plague or like bill collectors who call your house. Why? I suppose it’s because you really don’t have enough to pay off your debts as a result of bad budgeting and mismanagement of your allocations. So what does one do to get more money without robbing a bank? Privately, I can offer you some suggestions on how to get your financial house in order and if implemented, you will be well on your way to become debt free and financially stable.  For the purpose of this section, I hope to point out some elementary truths about how you can release money to receive more money because money is finicky, if you squeeze it too tight, it runs away from you. Again, if you are in a dire situation or want a deeper revelation, it will have take place privately. Contact me or leave a point of contact and we will get it done.

In order for something good to come into your life, you have to release something of equal value. If you want friends, be friendly. If you want good health, exercise, eat well and rest. The body regenerates itself at rest. If you need money you need to release money.  Some people think that just giving money to the homeless man on the side of the road will bring them loads of unexpected money. The money you release expecting a harvest must be released into good soil. Good soil is into the lives of people who are blessed, or who are seeking the Lord heart (like widows, (Exodus 22:22) orphans, motherless or fatherless children, (Deuteronomy 10:18, 26:13) the poor (Luke 18:22)
etc .

Here’s an example from the following Parable in Mark Chapter 4:3-9 from the New International Version NIV) of the Holy Bible.

3) “Listen! A farmer went out to sow his seed.

Your money is a seed. The words you speak are seeds. What are you saying about your money? Do you know when you talk good about something or someone you are actually blessing them? Consequently, when you speak negative about them you are cursing them. In the Covenant the Lord made with Abraham (our Forefather) The Lord made this promise: “I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.” (Genesis 12:3) This same blessing and curse holds true for you and me today. Neither you nor I know who’s saved or who belongs to the Lord by looking at them. What gives us the right to curse anyone anyway? If faith comes by hearing, what you say out of your mouth, you believe and eventually you will receive. So if you are cursing someone, that curse comes upon you. Scripture says: “Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it!” (Heb 13:3) Also look at Romans Chapter 12:14 “Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.” Get the picture? If you bless, you can expect blessings. If you curse, you can expect curses to show up in your life. Can you see that you are receiving exactly what you sowed or spoke about your situations? See Deuteronomy Chapter 28, which describes the blessing and the curse. Let’s move on.

4) As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up.

When you hear something that you know will change your life when you implement it, but as soon as you are about to leave, you forget it. The devil stole that idea and you can’t recall it even if your life depended upon it. When you hear what you were looking for, it’s important to immediately block out all distractions until you write it down. It’s easy to say, hard to do if you are not expecting a miracle. Because it happens so quickly Then the LORD replied: “Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it. For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay. (Habakkuk 2:3-4 NIV) Remember we are talking about sowing seeds or releasing words to manifest a specific outcome.

5-6) Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root.

Have you ever heard this statement: “Beginners Luck?” Anyone can have a great start, but to succeed time and time again you have to dig in and settle down for the long haul. Wonder why relationships don’t last? Because either one or both of the parties has it engraved in their hearts that if it don’t work out, they will get a divorce. Not only that, they begin to speak negative (cursing) words to effect this deeply rooted escape clause concocted by themselves personally whenever there is a misunderstanding. If you sow positive, you get positive. If you sow negative, you get negative. Where is your backbone? Without one the devil will give you an out and there you go. Or have you ever done something for someone and instead of them appreciating you for doing it, you feel like they are taking advantage of you, then you become hesitant about doing for them or anyone else? This is the devil at work trying to harden your heart to sowing love or kindness. The Bible says: “Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.” (Prov 4:23) So in whatever you do, if you do it with all your heart, you will succeed. In every endeavor, if you build a solid foundation, it will weather any storm.

7) Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants, so that they did not bear grain.
This is about bitterness and everything that callous the heart = the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth and the desires for other things. If the important thing about your life is money over love, then whatsoever things that may be good for you will be “choked out” from your hearing because you are too busy chasing after other things called distractions. Some say: “Slow down.” Others say: “Take a deep breath.” If you do them both, you can actually see your family or notice things that have been there for a long time but were blinded to your sight because you didn’t have time to look or enjoy them.
Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up, grew and produced a crop, some multiplying thirty, some sixty, some a hundred times.”
You spoke right words. You built a strong foundation based on love. You dug in and implemented things like patience, forgiveness, kindness, giving, amongst others. You wrote a plan and prayerfully anticipated something that will propel your dream into reality. When it shows up, it’s just another one of the blessings that are part and parcel of the Lord’s plan for your life. The most important thing is you slowed down enough to enjoy it.

9) Then Jesus said, “Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear.”

If you feel it’s too late for you, then let’s concentrate on your children. Sending your kids to college will allow them to earn more money beginning at graduation. Then smart money management will keep more in their pockets. The key to receiving favor with God and man is with tithes and offerings. When I bring tithes and offerings to the place where God chose to meet me (your church) I have God’s attention.  Then I have confidence in the prayers and petitions I ask of Him. Knowing that He hears me, I also have confidence knowing that the prayers and petitions I ask will be answered. Who says you can’t ask for money?  And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep [me] from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested. 1 Chr 4:10. Set your heart right so that you too, may prosper. Have a blessed day.
