Summer is turning the heat on full blast. Are you thirsty yet? Come all of you who are thirsty,” come to the waters, and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come buy wine and milk without money and without cost. (Is 55:1) I am reminded that those who hunger and thirst after righteousness will be filled (Math 5:6) In fact whatever you hunger and thirst after you will receive. That’s just how things work. When you seek, it will be found. (Math 7:7) When will it be time to stop walking that fine line between doing what’s right and chasing after your evil lusts? I wasn’t always saved. I know that all night partying can be fun sometimes. The people of the Bible threw parties lasting days and sometimes weeks. I challenge you to grow up in the maturity of your walk with the Lord. How do you grow up in maturity? Like with anything, the more time you spend in learning about it, the more knowledgeable you become, thus you become mature. Biblical maturity develops your trust in God and your faith in His Word so that You too can lay hands on the sick and they will get well (Mark 16:17) and God can use you to make a difference in this world. I’ve known many women whom, once they found out that they were pregnant, sacrificed their partying for the sake of the child. Well, if you care about your home, your community and the world you live in, your sacrifice to give up chasing after your own lusts and grow up in the maturity of God will reap great rewards here on earth and also in heaven. Therefore let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God, Instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead and eternal judgment. (Heb 6:1-3 NIV) If these abilities are the elementary stages of walking with God, can you imagine what you will be able to do when you are fully matured? Drink and have a blessed day.
