Living the Word of God

We all have fear about one thing or another. Fear can motivate you into action (Heb 11:7) or it can call you names like “chicken.” It was told me as a child to attack my fears head on, so I got on a building and was about to conquer my fear of heights. Then I thought: “What does the Bible say about fear?” One of the first things you must know about conquering fear is that you have to step out of your comfort zone to defeat it. When you decide to come out of your comfort zone know that the Lord says: “…Do not be afraid, for I am with you.” (Gen 26:24) You have the power of the Creator of heaven and earth backing you up. What should you fear?  Conquering your fears don’t mean that you violate natural laws because you can’t fly. It does mean that your lack of knowledge or understanding of something can create your fear of it and keep you in bondage to it (Heb 2:15) Understanding the authority given you by the Lord God Almighty (Gen 1:26) to have dominion over everything (except another man) should give you some perspective of the little device the devil uses called fear to control you. If you walk in your authority, fear cannot be a factor. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been make perfect in love (1 John 2:18)
