Your Heart Matters

Life is so simple. We complicate life when we want things our way especially in relationships. I always held on to this philosophy: “If you spoil me, I will spoil you.” Isn’t that what love is all about? Most people believe that when you get a warm fuzzy feeling that you actually care about someone other than yourself, it’s called love. Men and women see this “love” very differently. Whether men consider “love” as what we can do to make you happy, safe and warm; and some women have a laundry list of what “love”  is because they were not given a good example because of abuse or am I just like other men who just don’t understand. That doesn’t matter.

The heart matters. It’s what you think in your heart which translates into the words you speak, the actions you take and the outcome in every situation you are facing. And you thought you heart only pumps blood. Are you currently in a relationship? Is your relationship what you want it to be? No matter what you are going through, the basis of what you have now originated from what you thought in your heart.

“For as he thinketh within himself, so is he” (Proverbs 23:7 ASV).

The two greatest commands in the Bible are these:

1) Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength” (Deuteronomy 6:5 NIV).

2) “Love your neighbor as yourself” (SEE Matthew 19:19 NIV).

What is the common thread in these two scriptures? Love! Have you ever asked yourself: “What is love?”

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails (1st Corinthians 13:4-8 NIV).

That’s a mouthful. Are you patient in every situation? What are you thinking in your heart? Could it be that you are thinking of yourself more than the other person’s need, so you explode? Are you kind? We think about the movement that comes up a few times during the year; “Pay it forward.” Why can’t we live like that every day? It may be because of all the other things you are thinking in your heart crowing out the goodness in your heart.

“Don’t hate” but in our hearts, we do. Everybody has the same 24 hour clock; access to the internet; even greater, the same capacity to imagine what you want and reach out to God for the answers. If your world is all about “look at what I have” or what “I can do” or if you think that helping someone is beneath you, then your heart is in the wrong place.


“A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things” (Matthew 12:35).

The Bible is not like any other book that I’ve read. It requires meditation on each word for you to really get its application.

“Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do” (Joshua 1:8 NLT).

If you read the Bible like a novel, then the words won’t resonate or effect a change in your heart. The Words God inspired must permeate our hearts for real change to happen in our lives. That comes through meditating on each word.

Take Action

A Look Within

It’s a remarkable thing, this body we live in. If you cut your hand, it heals itself. If you break your leg, the bone fuses together to make it like new and that, all by itself. You imagine a thing, it comes to pass. God didn’t leave out anything when He made man.

“God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day” (Genesis 1:31).

We tend to however, stand in our own way by exercising our will power completely hindering this natural process God created then wondering why life isn’t satisfying. Life has a flow to it. To find out the true meaning of life is to understand why you are here and what you are supposed to do while you are here. Those answers can be found in the Good Book, the Bible (Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth).  I can guide you in understanding some of the gifts you were granted, but it’s up to you to practice them until you know that they will work for you too.

A human being is made up with three distinct parts; spirit, soul and body. Today, we will talk about all three areas. First, let’s take a look at the body:

The Body System (1)

The job of the circulatory system is to move blood, nutrients, oxygen, carbon dioxide, and hormones, around the body. It consists of the heart, blood, blood vessels, arteries and veins.

The digestive system consists of a series of connected organs that together, allow the body to break down and absorb food, and remove waste. It includes the mouth, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, rectum, and anus. The liver and pancreas also play a role in the digestive system because they produce digestive juices.

The endocrine system consists of eight major glands that secrete hormones into the blood. These hormones, in turn, travel to different tissues and regulate various bodily functions, such as metabolism, growth and sexual function.

The immune system is the body’s defense against bacteria, viruses and other pathogens that may be harmful. It includes lymph nodes, the spleen, bone marrow, lymphocytes (including B-cells and T-cells), the thymus and leukocytes, which are white blood cells.

The lymphatic system includes lymph nodes, lymph ducts and lymph vessels, and also plays a role in the body’s defenses. Its main job is to make is to make and move lymph, a clear fluid that contains white blood cells, which help the body fight infection. The lymphatic system also removes excess lymph fluid from bodily tissues, and returns it to the blood.

The nervous system controls both voluntary action (like conscious movement) and involuntary actions (like breathing), and sends signals to different parts of the body. The central nervous system includes the brain and spinal cord. The peripheral nervous system consists of nerves that connect every other part of the body to the central nervous system.

The body’s muscular system consists of about 650 muscles that aid in movement, blood flow and other bodily functions. There are three types of muscle: skeletal muscle which is connected to bone and helps with voluntary movement, smooth muscle which is found inside organs and helps to move substances through organs, and cardiac muscle which is found in the heart and helps pump blood.

The reproductive system allows humans to reproduce. The male reproductive system includes the penis and the testes, which produce sperm. The female reproductive system consists of the vagina, the uterus and the ovaries, which produce eggs. During conception, a sperm cell fuses with an egg cell, which creates a fertilized egg that implants and grows in the uterus. [Related: Awkward Anatomy: 10 Odd Facts About the Female Body]

Our bodies are supported by the skeletal system, which consists of 206 bones that are connected by tendons, ligaments and cartilage. The skeleton not only helps us move, but it’s also involved in the production of blood cells and the storage of calcium. The teeth are also part of the skeletal system, but they aren’t considered bones.

The respiratory system allows us to take in vital oxygen and expel carbon dioxide in a process we call breathing. It consists mainly of the trachea, the diaphragm and the lungs.

The urinary system helps eliminate a waste product called urea from the body, which is produced when certain foods are broken down. The whole system includes two kidneys, two ureters, the bladder, two sphincter muscles and the urethra. Urine produced by the kidneys travels down the ureters to the bladder, and exits the body through the urethra.

The skin, or integumentary system, is the body’s largest organ. It protects us from the outside world, and is our first defense against bacteria, viruses and other pathogens. Our skin also helps regulate body temperature and eliminate waste through perspiration. In addition to skin, the integumentary system includes hair and nails.

The Vital Organs (2)

The human brain is the body’s control center, receiving and sending signals to other organs through the nervous system and through secreted hormones. It is responsible for our thoughts, feelings, memory storage and general perception of the world.

The human heart is a responsible for pumping blood throughout our body.

The job of the kidneys is to remove waste and extra fluid from the blood. The kidneys take urea out of the blood and combine it with water and other substances to make urine.

The liver has many functions, including detoxifying of harmful chemicals, breakdown of drugs, filtering of blood, secretion of bile and production of blood-clotting proteins.

The lungs are responsible for removing oxygen from the air we breathe and transferring it to our blood where it can be sent to our cells. The lungs also remove carbon dioxide, which we exhale.

“Your body is your slave” not “you are a slave to your body.” Did you ever say, “I’m tired”? Your next actions could be to sit down, stretch out on the sofa or lay across your bed, right? What about the person who says, “I’m going to run a marathon”! Their next steps may have them doing some type conditioning training, visualizing and even running short distances building up to the big one-the marathon.

What’s the difference between the two? They both told their body what to do and each got their desired end results.

You may not realize it but whether you tell your body you are tired or to run a marathon, you are exercising your will-power (an inner gift) then you spoke words (from within or from your head) to achieve the desired end results.

We must stop just talking off of the top of our heads and learn how to speak what we hear from within. In learning this process, at first it kindof feels like it might come out wrong. Only when you do release those words will the right results be achieved. And that my dear friends is faith.

One of the keys to the Bible is praying the “end results”. The scriptures put it like this:

“Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them” (Mark 11:23 NIV).

To understand this truth is to know that “mountain” really means whatever problem(s) you may be facing. This scripture tells you to SAY to your “problem” what you want as your desired end result.

Here’s the problem. We become our worse enemy. As soon as you get to the first hurdle, you place your mouth in reverse and start speaking what you don’t want. The scripture says: “and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them” (Mark 11:23 NIV).  That means you must learn how to see your end results with tunnel vision. No matter what comes your way, your belief should be so strong that nothing can deter you or make you change your confession of the end result.

We are our worse enemies. You will believe what you say before you believe anyone else. Did you know that when you speak, your spirit, soul and body shape your world? You win from within. The solution to every problem comes from within. I have to say that if the Holy Spirit lives in you, then you must look within your heart to find the answers to all of life’s challenges.

“But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God” (1st Corinthians 2:9-11 NKJV).

God is all knowing!

“He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you” (John 14:17 NLT).

Look within to hear what to say to whatever part of your body that isn’t functioning properly then say what you hear to cause your bodily functions to function.

“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours” (Mark 11:24 NIV).

Faith begins where the will of God is known. It’s God will to heal you.

“In one of the villages, Jesus met a man with an advanced case of leprosy. When the man saw Jesus, he bowed with his face to the ground, begging to be healed. “Lord,” he said, “if you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean.” Jesus reached out and touched him. “I am willing,” he said. “Be healed!” And instantly the leprosy disappeared” (Luke 5:12-13 NLT).

For whatever other problems you may face, ask yourself this question: “Is this good, or is this bad?” Your world is created by what you are saying about life. There should be no idle words. Every word produces either good things in your life or bad things. If what you are going through is bad, you can change your entire situation by saying what God said about it and not doubting that it will happen for you.

“Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you” (Luke 10:19 NKJV).

Referring to scriptures, anything that has to do with the malfunctioning of our body is of the devil. It’s a part of the curse that people go through when they violate spiritual law. The good news, however, is that you don’t have to go through that alone.

“Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light” (Matthew 11:28-30 NLT).

Just like the body, we have within ourselves the ability to create our own little universe by what we think, what we say and with the things we can imagine.

“And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do” (Genesis 11:6).

Thoughts create choices.

A truth from the scriptures about thoughts is found in from Romans 12:2

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God”.

“This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live” (Deuteronomy 30:19).

Then you say: “What are we transforming and renewing our minds to? I reply; Our lusts”

Three things come into mind. 1) Conformity to the world is chasing after the lusts which we all have to some degree or another.

“Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world” (1st John 2:15-16 NIV).

You created everything that you are currently experiencing in life. Where you live, what you have or don’t have, in fact you are where you are in life because of your thoughts and how you feel about things and the words you speak about situations. The choice to choose thoughts are yours and yours alone. When confronted with a task, you either say “I can do it” or you say “It’s too hard”. Who’s telling you it’s hard or it’s easy? You do! My friend you are telling yourself it’s easy or hard based upon your belief system.

The truth is found in scriptures.

“Whatever you declare with your mouth, and believe in your heart that you shall receive” (SEE Romans 10:9 NIV).

I offer this from Philippians 4:8 which states:

“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things” (NIV).

If there is one thing that we can do it’s to control our lusts. If you look at all the failures you’ve had in life, you will find that it’s because of a choice you made to go after one or more of the things you lust for. It’s very simple. Look at yourself in your mirror and decide not to do certain things that hinder you from achieving success.

Galatians 5:17 talks about the flesh like this:

“For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want” (NIV).

Will Power

When we decide to “think of ourselves more highly than we ought” (SEE Romans 12:3) then we are putting ourselves ahead of what God wants. A right confession is not my will but Yours be done (See Luke 22:42).

At two, we began to learn how to exercise our will. We learned what the word “No” does by watching the reaction of our guardians as we said it. As parents we call it the terrible two’s? Then we started to exercise our will to saying things like “I don’t want to” or “I don’t like this” and throw a fit in the supermarket. Just to let you know, as a child if I did act like that, my mother would give me a taste of the ouch. That is translated as a swift hit just to keep me in place before we got home.

“Whoever spares the rod hates their children, but the one who loves their children is careful to discipline them” Proverbs” (13:24 NIV).

As parents, we believe we know the right way to bring up our children. I must remind you, we are the children of God. He knows what we need. Our jobs are to “humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time” (1st Peter 5:6 NKJV).

Answered Prayer (How God Works)

Many people ask for prayer and many people will pray for you. Most of us just allow someone to pray for us without listening intently to the words of the person praying patiently waiting for the prayer to be over so you can get on with your life. Prayer does work! I will give you an example. We left Los Angeles to go to an appointment in Phoenix, Arizona. While here, we looked at some of the new homes that were being built. The first one we saw, Robin liked it so much that she wanted one. I knew Phoenix better and I decided to really show her some homes because I had previously lived in Phoenix. When my wife looked around at the homes here, she decided that this would be a great place for us to settle down as newlyweds. Long story short, we didn’t get the first house because the lender wouldn’t bend. I needed a few extra weeks for some financing to come in that they were not willing to wait. During the process of a new built, we had to drive back and forth from LA to Phoenix to check the process of our house, driving that rugged, six- hour drive along I-10. We decided to physically move to Phoenix in lieu of driving that horrendous I-10 trip initially staying at a Motel until we found an apartment. After a while we started looking for another new home. This house is nestled against South Mountain. Every time we visited the site, I felt peace, almost as if we were at some plush upscale resort. If you never purchase a home, I’ll tell you, the lender will ask for everything; all your tax information, your bank statements, why you did this or that, how you pick your nose? I think that they were being nosey asking for more things than they needed.

Our first attempt at getting financing with the builder’s mortgager failed because of an issue I had with Child Support. We counted this one almost gone but my agent wanted us to try another lender. Again, we sent all the same exact documents to the second lender. He even wanted to know how often I brushed my teeth? Just kidding. When the second lender failed at giving us a letter of intent, we just about gave up on the idea of owning a home. However, our agent was persistent. He offered up a third lender promising that it would work. Our first closing date was two days before Thanksgiving. It came and left.

As a side note, when lenders ask you for documentation, they usually ask for several items all at once.

For each lender and at every instance they requested all those documents, I would get all the documents together and fax them all at once. Well, as you probably figured out, I was tired of going through this process and really didn’t want to do it again. This time seemed different. The lender assured me that they would probably be able to fund us if I could prove that I have been paying my child support.

I wanted this house. I was not only at my wits end but I was desperate. That’s when I called for prayer. I contacted all the ministries that I partner with for prayer. Kenneth Copeland, Marilyn Hickey, Joyce Meyers, just to name a few, I couldn’t get ahold of anyone who would pray in agreement with me.

In Matthew 18:19 it states: “Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven”.

Finally I reached Jerry Savelle Ministries and something told me to leave a message on their answering machine. The next day a woman called me and prayed for me. I listened and heard the faith of her words. She believed that her prayer would be answered.

Matthew 20:22 “And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.”

Mark 11:24 “Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”

A few days passed by then the lender asked for more documentation. Then I heard a voice in my inner man, the Holy Spirit say to me: “Send the documents that they requested individually.” When I sent the document, I did each request individually so that the lender can see that I paid my child support religiously and that everything else was in order.

The new closing date was December 21, 2017. As the process moved along, we were getting different prices for the closing costs. I didn’t have the extra $4,500.00. I got my phone out and texted everyone in my rolodex. I don’t know why but people can be quite nasty when you’re asking for monetary help when the Bible teaches us to “Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back” (Luke 6:38). I could work and generate that money by the first week of January but the lender did not want to wait until then. How was I going to come up with an extra $4,500.00? God stepped in. My agent convinced the lender to put up $2,000.00 and the builder chipped in $1,000.00 and I had the rest. Praise the Lord with me. I have a new home

God does answer prayers. The key is do what He says.

“But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves” (James 1:22 NLT).






People who are full of faith have a good report because they look at their challenges through the eyes of God. The questions then becomes: “How does the Lord see your situation?” If you are SICK, He sees you healed. (1 Pet 2:24) If you are POOR, the Lord sees you rich. (2 Cor 8:9) If you see yourself living in fear, the Lord sees you conquering that fear with love, power and a sound mind (2 Tim 1:7) Get the picture? No matter what you are going through, from the beginning of time, God has created the answer for you to have victory in every area of life. If you don’t know how to spell a word, where do you go to look it up? The answer lies in the dictionary. When you need direction about life, where do you find the answers? Heaven on earth

If you just understand these four truths about the Word of God, dramatic changes will occur in your life from now on. Then you life would be like living in heaven right here on earth instead of living in hell on earth!

“The tongue can bring death or life;
those who love to talk will reap the consequences” (Proverbs 21:18 NLT).

“Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live” (Deuteronomy 30:19 NLT)!

“I also tell you this: If two of you agree here on earth concerning anything you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you” (Matthew 18:10 NLT).

“I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart” (Mark 11:23 NLT).

If heaven and earth will witness which choice you make; heaven being where the Kingdom of God is where there is grace and favor, and the earth where everything is produced based upon what you say with your mouth and believe in your heart is stored up and waiting for faith filled words to release it, what are you saying to your condition? What are you saying about the everyday challenges you face? If they be your mountains, what are you saying to you mountains? Know now that you have what you say. I tell you that if you don’t’ like what you have, you must change what you say about it. Want to learn how? Ask me.

How would you like to be successful in everything you put your hands to? Success comes with wise council.

“And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee that he would not prophesy good unto me, but evil” (2nd Chronicles 18:17)?

“They say to the seers, “See no more visions!” and to the prophets, “Give us no more visions of what is right! Tell us pleasant things, prophesy illusions” (Isaiah 30:10 NIV).

If you read the Chapter where I have given you the reference point, you would see that God had allowed a “lying spirit” to come upon the counselors of the evil king. Because the king of Israel had evil intentions and was rebellious against God, those prophets spoke seeking to be rewarded by the king without consideration of the true reward which comes from God.
Some prophets will tell you things that tickle your ears just to make you feel good especially if there be earthly rewards granted towards them as a result of their council. When you devise plans that are evil and not of the Lord and you take council with those who look for the blessings from man, your demise is imminent. Be careful that you don’t listen to just what you want to hear but inquire of the Lord and whatever He says to do, do it. Our success in life comes when we listen to the council of God and be doers of what we received from the Holy Spirit.

Your Guide: “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him” (Colossians 3:17 NIV).

It takes a “quieting” of your spirit to be able to hear distinctly what the Holy Spirit is saying to you. When you do hear what “thus says the Lord” then you will have a knowing in your spirit, a conviction that what you were directed to do is right. And when you are obedient to do what you heard, you will have great success.

As a Financial Planner, I’ve review many Employee Benefit Packets to help my clients take advantage of the benefits they are entitled to for working for their employer. Many people don’t even look nor do they take advantage of their “benefits” with the exception of some of the basic allowances like their health benefits or the education allowance afforded to them by the employer. Some folks were sitting on a goldmine of money gifted them through stock ownership or their 401(k) plans. I’ve found money that people didn’t even know that they had because they wouldn’t take the time to analyze their Employee Benefit Package. Did you know that God has created a benefit package for all those who received salvation? Over the next series of my writings to you I will open up the mysteries of God’s “Benefit Packet” granted to you as part and parcel of your salvation. Today we will talk a little about “peace”
Jesus said: “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid” (John 14:27 NLT).
Your enemy the devil, “prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.” The Bible refers to the devil as “your great enemy, the devil” (1st Peter 5:8 NLT). How he accomplishes this feat of robbing you from the peace that God has given you is by creating fear in your hearts through your circumstances. Instead of resting in the peace of God, you look at your circumstance through the eyes fear and you take your focus off of your “peace” benefit. When this happens, your mind concocts scenarios that are fictitious and out of line with your “peace” benefit thus creating mental chaos. What you give thought to or meditate on becomes a reality in your life. Instead of dwelling on the lies of the devil, dwell on the promise of the “peace” Jesus died to give you. The Bible says “Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you” (1st Peter 5:7 NLT). When you give all of your cares and burdens to the Lord in prayer, you have to learn not to pick it up again by worrying about it. To know that God loves you is to be able to rest in the fact that He cares about you and that He will handle those concerns you bring to Him.
God is known as the “God of Peace” (Judges 6:24). In the Book of Judges, Gideon was chosen to deliver the Israelites from the hand of the Midianites. Just before Gideon went to war to deliver the Israelites, Gideon was shaking in his boots when God chose him to deliver the Israelites. Gideon looked at his ability to carry out what God has instructed him to do seeing that he was from a poor upbringing and being the weakest in his household, Gideon thought God was setting him up for death. Most of us make the same mistake. We tend to look at what we have in determining whether or not we can do what God has told us to do and thus we fear.
When God sends you to do something, it is God who will perform His word through you.
“Then the LORD said to me, “You have seen well, for I am watching over my word to perform it”” (Jeremiah 1:12 ESV).
God said: “Have I not sent thee” (Judges 6:14)? After Gideon’s encounter with the Lord, Gideon went on to defeat the Midianites because he did as the Lord instructed him to do. Without fail, if you follow your inward witness, the voice of the Holy Spirit, you will not fail. Many of us fail to follow our first mind. We end up second guessing and failing at each attempt. God never fails. His word will not return void. “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it” (Isaiah 55:11).
Jesus is known as the Prince of Peace. It was written about Him in Isaiah Chapter 9. “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6).
We have been given spiritual weapons to defeat every attack of the enemy (Ephesians 6:10-18) and we have been given an example of how to do it by the Lord Jesus Himself when He was tempted 40 days by the devil in the wilderness (see Mathew Chapter 4, and in Luke Chapter 4). The example was given every time the devil said something to Jesus, Jesus spoke the Word to defeat the enemy.
”For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12 NKJV).
It’s the Word of God which fights your battles. It’s your faith in God and your belief in the Power of His Word that gives you the ability to stand firm and know that the enemy will flee.
“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you” (James 4:7). This is a promise from God regardless of any opposition.
But we have to do our part. Most people quote this scripture: “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper” (Isaiah 54:17) but omit their responsibilities in refuting the words of the devil playing hopscotch with our thoughts. It is our responsibility to “silence every voice raised up to accuse you” in order to receive the peace promised by our Father, the God of Peace. The devil is the accuser of the brethren (Revelation 12:10). You have to speak a scripture against anything that tries to rob you of this peace. “These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the LORD; their vindication will come from me. I, the LORD, have spoken! (Isaiah 54:17 NLT).
Therefore, “I urge you, brothers and sisters, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them. For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the minds of naive people. Everyone has heard about your obedience, so I rejoice because of you; but I want you to be wise about what is good, and innocent about what is evil. The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you. (Rom 16:17-20 NIV).

The Origin of Words were originally for 1) Creation: “Then God said…and it was so” (Genesis 1:9). We are made in His image (Genesis 1:26). Therefore our words can and should be used to create the reality of what we want for our lives.

The second highest power of Words are used as 2) a seed. “The sower sows the word” (Mark 4:14). “Death and life are in the power of the tongue” (Proverbs 18:21). You speak life or death over your situation according to the words you use during the testing of your faith (belief) concerning every area of your life.

Then finally Words are used as 3) a form of communication. I can say “go get that red bucket.” Did you see the image? We need to stop reading over the words in the Bible as if the Bible is just communicating a story and look at the words written like they are seeds creating images of hope changing any unwanted area of our lives to be conformed to what His will for us on earth is just as it is in heaven.

There is no sickness or disease, lack, hurt, depression, pain, or anything unwanted in heaven. To change your earthly reality, you have to change the way you think about you’re your situation and make your words line up with heaven’s prospective. What does God say about it? You should be saying the same thing.

Free Gifts

No matter how you may feel today, the all the promises of God are Yes and Amen! “For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God” (2nd Corinthians 1:20 NIV). To refuse to believe that your Heavenly Father wants to and has a solution for everything you can encounter is to live in denial. It’s called SIN. The Bible says: “For whatsoever is not of faith is sin” (Romans 14:23). As a part of being restored (as a joint heir to Christ) your inheritance package include all things that lead to life and godliness. “By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence” (2nd Peter 1:3 NLT). Living a godly life is to spread love and to be a blessing to everyone you come into contact with no matter what their need is. One may say: “How can I be a blessing to someone else when I have needs myself?” Think of it as when you were a child at Christmas. Underneath the Christmas tree are many beautifully wrapped gifts with you name on them. One-by-one, you begin to open each of them. One of the gifts is peace (John 14:27) and another joy (Nehemiah 8:10). Suddenly you discover a package of prosperity (2nd Corinthians 8:9), then another with healing (Isaiah 53:4-5). Each of these gifts is listed in the Bible as promises. All these gifts belong to you. It’s up to you to believe that they are yours and to receive them. And they are more than enough to help others with their needs. Can you grasp this? Then, what are you waiting for? Open your gifts.
